Designed by Rubio Arquitectura and located at Madrid Content City (Tres Cantos), the building programme is spread across four floors. The brand’s identity is reflected in the interior aesthetic through a wide range of materials and colours, seeking to generate inspiring ambiances that stimulate the team’s creativity.
Each floor adopts a different language that evolves from homogeneity in the work area to disparity in service areas like the canteen and the screening room. The top floor of these new offices incorporates a garden-terrace in keeping with Netflix’s desire to create pleasant working environments that reflect its business philosophy and in which innovation goes hand in hand with functionality.
Empty assumed the responsibility of executing the works within a seven-month deadline, acting as general contractor as well as coordinating the client’s own suppliers.
The execution involved strict requirements regarding acoustic comfort. This was achieved by meticulous treatment of the terminations and joints of both solid and glass partitions, by the installation of acoustic panels on ceilings and walls, and by the use of spray-on acoustic insulating material on the installations.
Very diverse materials were used for the claddings and custom-built furniture. A combination of terrazzos, vinyls and hardwoods was chosen for the floors, which demanded minute attention from the technical office regarding the smooth integration of thicknesses and transitions across the different spaces.
Coordination in the execution of the installations and collaboration with the client’s specialised technology suppliers were essential to ensure adherence at all time to the standards and demands of an audiovisual giant like Netflix.
