Shindagha Museum Wave 2b: Empty’s second project in Dubai

After completing the Etihad Museum, in the capital of Dubai Empty has begun working on three new museums devoted to traditional architecture, the growth of the city of Dubai and the Islamic values at the heart of Emirati society, as well as a multipurpose pavilion for temporary exhibitions and large events. The contract includes the design, production and installation of both museography and content. The project is part of an ambitious plan launched by municipal authorities to promote the heritage of the historic quarter of Shindagha in Dubai by restoring existing architectural structures for use as exhibition venues. For the production of these cultural facilities, Empty has created a temporary joint venture with Islamic Architects (Islarch) and enlisted the assistance of British experts Barker Langham (content) and Nissen Richards Studio (museography).
